The following items are on Red Deer city council’s open meeting agenda on Monday, January 8, 2024.

Budget 2024:

• Administration will present the 2024 Budget documents to council and deliver a brief presentation. Budget documents will be available for public viewing following the meeting at redder.ca/budget. Council will debate the budget January 23-26.

Consideration of Notice of Motion re: Urban Encampment Responses:

• Submitted by Councillor Lawrence Lee and read on December 18, 2023, the notice of motion will be considered by council at Monday’s meeting.

Land Use Bylaw amendment – East Hill MASP and Lancaster/Vanier NASP (Public Hearing):

• On December 4, 2023, Council gave first reading to four bylaws (an amendment to close a ±2.23 hectare portion of road, amend two statutory plans, and rezone the area to allow for a mix of residential and open space uses.
• They are: East Hill Major Area Structure Plan (Bylaw 3499/A-2023), Lancaster / Vanier East Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (Bylaw 3217/B-2023), Road Closure (Bylaw 3700/2023) and Land Use Bylaw (Bylaw 3357/K-2023).
• On Monday, a Public Hearing will be held for all four of the above bylaw amendments, and council will consider second and third reading.
