Red Deer RCMP ‘serving’ holiday wishes this year

Dec 22, 2023 | 4:29 PM

Instead of filling their backseats with suspects this week, Red Deer RCMP made some room for groceries and song lyrics.

On Wednesday, a group of carolers could be seen – and heard – making their way through some of Red Deer’s senior and community centers.

Red Deer RCMP members and Chaplain, along with Red Deer Victim Services, sang holiday songs hoping to bring warm wishes to the community.

On Friday, Red Deer RCMP Cst. Liz Chan and RCMP Chaplain Barry Oram delivered holiday meals to numerous local families, after collecting donations from other Red Deer RCMP members and employees.

“I would like to send warm wishes to all Red Deerians for a wonderful and safe holiday season. It is an honour for our RCMP team to serve this community, and we wish you all a safe and happy holiday,” sais Superintendent Holly Glassford, Red Deer RCMP Detachment Commander.
