It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Mr. Robert Douglas ‘Bob’ Rolls at the Red Deer Hospice on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the age of 69 years. Bob was born July 8, 1954 in Montreal, Quebec.
Bob was blessed to have been adopted by George and Dorothy Rolls, becoming the oldest of his other three siblings, Brian, Trish, and Carol-Ann.
The family had a cabin just over the border in Vermont, where they spent a great deal of time skiing,
horseback riding, swimming, and spending time outdoors. It was always a place filled with fond memories for Bob.
Bob moved to Edmonton, Alberta in the mid 1970’s. It was there he got into Sales, selling stereo equipment, which was right in line with his love for music. He later moved to Red Deer, switching from stereo sales to furniture. Bob enjoyed a career with Sim’s Furniture for many years. He was well known for having a great eye for design, and by his many loyal customers.
Bob had a great love for the outdoors, he loved hunting, camping, quadding and sitting in front of a bonfire. He loved great food and having barbecues. Music was a big part of Bob’s life; he was a DJ in his younger years in Montreal, and was able to see many famous musicians live. He shared his love of music with his family and especially loved playing the oldies for his grandkids. Bob loved his garage full of tools, where he worked on many projects.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Loretta; his son, Jason Rolls (Kayla); his daughter, Stephanie (Aaron) Winter, and his grandchildren, Olivia, Amelia, and Gideon.
The family would like to thank the Red Deer Hospice for their remarkable care, and amazing food which Bob thoroughly enjoyed. If desired, Memorial Donations in Bob’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at www.reddeerhospice.com.
