We are saddened by the sudden passing of Arvin J. Boger (AJ). He was born November 18, 1935, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. A Saskatchewan farm boy at heart and very proud of his Norwegian heritage. Arvin moved with his wife Borgny and his son Arden to Olds, Alberta in 1966. His family grew in Olds with two additional daughters Angela and Sandra. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. AJ was a dedicated and proud employee of Mobil Oil for 35 years. He was a pioneer in his field in Environmental Technology in the Oil & Gas Industry. He had a mechanical mind and loved working on his cars and Moto-ski snowmobiles. He was one of the founding directors of the Mountain View Marksman Association shooting range from 1982-2009.
He had won over 200 trophies in competitive shoots in Canada and USA, including summer games. He also enjoyed curling for many years. Arvin is survived by his loving wife Borgny of 66 years; son Arden Boger (Karen) and daughters Angela Hasselmann (Wally) and
Sandra Boger-Richards (Kelly); grandsons Erik Boger and Dylan Webster (Danielle); granddaughter Leandra Boger. Arvin was also blessed with a great granddaughter Brooklyn Nora Webster this past June; brother Harvey Boger (Loraine); sister Bertha Hemstead (John) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Arvin was a kind-hearted and intelligent man. He will be missed by many as he has left imprints on our hearts.
A Dad is a powerful figure in a family. We sure had a good one!
Many thanks to Dr. M. Ingles and the team for caring for Dad during his last few days…
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. with a lunch to follow.
