It is with profound sadness the Olesiuk family wishes to announce the unexpected, tragic passing of their husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, son-in-law, brother-in-law and friend, David ‘Dave’ Kenneth Dale Olesiuk of Blackfalds, Alberta, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the age of 43 years.
Dave blessed his parents when he was born on December 21, 1979 in Drayton Valley, Alberta. Dave grew up with his family in Entwistle, Alberta. He lived on Grandma and Grandpa’s farm in his mom and dad’s small quant trailer for a few years when they moved to their new home of now forty-two years. Dave was adventurous as a baby, and as a young child, he collected He-Man figurines and Lego. Dave got his first guitar at the age of four and the rest is history. He started to cook at eleven years of age and has always enjoyed cooking from then on. Dave went to Entwistle School until Grade Nine. He then went to Seba Beach School, where he graduated in 1997. Dave worked for his Grandpa Ingram after school, moving houses, and then he moved south to the Red Deer area to start his career and life as an adult. Dave had a love for Heavy Metal music and playing his guitars.
Dave met Lisa in 2006 and they fell in love instantly. They were later married in July 2010. On January 16, 2013, their beautiful twin girls were born, and two years later, on May 13, 2015, their handsome son came into their lives. Dave was a loving family man who would do anything for his family. Dave and Lisa later moved to their dream acreage just outside of Blackfalds, Alberta, to raise their family in 2020. You would often pull up to hear Dave blasting his electric guitar in the shop on their property or working on a project in the yard. He loved to watch his children play the sports they loved, and also spend time with his family and friends. Dave had respect for all who knew him. If you were his friend, you would be his friend for life.
Dave’s career was in the Oil and Gas Industry. He started at Halliburton in 2002, and then worked for Canyon Technical Services for over ten years before starting his Consulting career in 2017. Dave worked long hours away from his family to provide a stable and secure life for them. He always wanted the best for them. The reward for that was always when Daddy came home. He loved to spend time with his wife and children, they meant the world to him, and he meant the world to them.
Dave will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife, Lisa Olesiuk of Blackfalds, Alberta and their three loving children, Hailey, Ava and Noah; his parents, Ken and Shelley Olesiuk of Entwistle, Alberta; his brother, Donnie Olesiuk (Lindsey Larose), his sister, Erlene (Neil Drouin), his mother and father-in-law, Don and Linda Shantz, his sister-in-law, Angela and Ed Varty, his brother-in-law, Michael Shantz, his nieces and nephews, Elizabeth and Keaton Olesiuk, Leim and Maci Drouin, Brady and Maya Varty and Bodhi Shantz, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Dave was predeceased by his sister, Raelene Olesiuk.
