Vivian Tisdale

Vivian Joyce (Magistad) Tisdale, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023, at the age of 89.
She was survived by her 3 Children:
Shauna Fisher, James ‘Jim’ (Gina) Fisher, Lisa (Robert) Currie.
10 Grandchildren.
Aaron (Julie) Dyck, Ashlee (Trevor) Munday and Lindsay (Kyle) Andres,
Jessi (Gordon) Amos, Jenna (Lee) Ackerman, Samantha Fisher and Thomas Fisher
Brittney (Scott) Tronnes, Dustin Currie and Kalli (Braden) Diakow

Vivian was born in Ardmore, Alberta in 1934. She is predeceased by her parents, Gladys and Martin Magistad, sister Irene (Magistad) Swigart, brothers Charles and Irvin Magistad.
Vivian graduated from Charlotte High School and moved to Edmonton, Alberta. Where she received employment with Alberta Government Telephones as a Switchboard Operator. After a few years, she put in for a transfer and a promotion to Red Deer in 1955, where she met and married Clinton George Fisher in 1956. He owned Fisher Movers in Red Deer. They had 2 children, Shauna J. Fisher and James C. Fisher. Clinton Fisher was killed in 1961.
Vivian met and married Harold H. Tisdale, in 1965, he was with the City of Red Deer Fire Department. They resided in Red Deer and had one child, daughter Lisa Lynn Tisdale in 1966.
Vivian was employed by the Red Deer Regional Hospital in the Admitting Department in 1968, she retired as Control Center Systems Coordinator in 1994.
After retirement Vivian and Harold spent time travelling Alberta, fishing, and camping, into the United States, Mexico and Alaska. They spent many winters in Arizona.
Vivian’s parents were Norwegian and Swedish descent. The Magistad and Johnson family’s emigrated by wagon train from Vivian, South Dakota, in the early 1900 hence the name her father Martin Magistad gave her.
Vivian was proud of her Norwegian heritage; she had a pen-pal from Norway since grade school and Vivian and Harold made a trip to England and Norway to see Harold’s family and a special visit with her friend Liv in Norway. Liv in return visited Red Deer in the early 2000’s. Vivian was a member of the Lufthansa in Red Deer.
Vivian lived her life well and she will be dearly missed.
Vivian’s Funeral Service will be held at Eventide Funeral Home, in Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, October 26th, at 1:00 pm.
