Mr. Glen Merton Hougestol of Red Deer, Alberta died in the early morning of Friday, September 29, 2023 at the age of 90 years. Glen was born on the family farm outside of Millet, Alberta, the sixth child of Albert and Marie Hougestol. Glen was a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, a talented musician, and a loving dad, grandfather, and great grandfather. His engaging smile and laugh will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Glen leaves to mourn his children, Jeri Lynne Erickson, Kathy Mullin, Brent (Bonnie) Hougestol, his nine grandchildren and his fifteen great grandchildren. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, Lorna May (Terry) Betteridge, and Audrey Hougestol, and his brother-in-law, Richard Zeluf, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Glen will also be lovingly remembered by his special friend and companion, Barbara Hollings. Glen was predeceased by his wife of sixty years, Jennie Belle Hougestol, his parents, Albert and Marie Hougestol, his brothers, Stanley, Russell, and Archie Hougestol, his sisters, Thelma Crough and Beatrice Tellier, his sisters-in law, Mary Ann Zeluf, and Gertie Hougestol, his brothers-in-law, Delbert Crough and Laurier Tellier, his special daughter, Jane Oliva, and his sons-in-law, Gary Mullin and Doug Erickson.
