It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. William ‘Bill’ John Clark at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the age of 81 years. Bill was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on June 3, 1942, and grew up in Prince Albert. He married Gwen (nee Duffield) in 1968 at Whitefox, Saskatchewan. Bill taught at River Glen School for many enjoyable years. Bill coached ball and football, served on the Red Deer Recreation Board, the Library Board and was proactive on the local Alberta Teacher’s Association. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed performing in plays with Central Alberta Theatre. Bill and Gwen enjoyed twenty years as Snowbirds and travelled Canada, USA, and abroad. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-five years, Gwen; his sisters-in-law, Linda Clark, Fay Brown, Doreen Duffield and Barb Duffield; his nephews, Eric Clark, Aaron Brown and Wayne Duffield; his nieces, Heather Russell and Arlene Gramiak; his honorary nieces, Val Bradshaw and Susan Sawatzky and his nephew, Steven Hay, as well as numerous other family members and dear friends. Bill was predeceased by his parents, John and Marguerite Clark; his brother, Bryan; his brothers-in-law, Frank Duffield, Victor Duffield, Murray Duffield and Keith Brown; his sister-in-law, Helen Duffield; his niece, Betty Drabinasty; and his nephews, Allen Duffield and Willard Brown. Bill’s family would like to thank the Paramedics, Emergency Department at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Unit 31 and the ICU for their excellent care of Bill.
