Specialty clinics relocating to allow for future growth
Three Alberta Health Services (AHS) clinics at the 49th Street Community Health Centre (4755 49 St.), including the Diabetes Specialty Care Clinic, will be moving this month to make room for future program growth.
Effective Oct. 12, officials with Alberta Health Services (AHS) say the diabetes clinic will move into the Medical Specialty Clinic on the first floor at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. AHS says the clinic provides ongoing support and education to individuals with diabetes. This includes adult, pediatric and diabetes in pregnancy care.
Officials say the relocation will support clinic growth and enhance the ability of clinic teams to work closely with the hospital’s new endocrinologist, Dr. Haiju Chirayath, as part of establishing a new endocrinology service in Red Deer.
AHS says there will be no change in program delivery or services available to patients as the diabetes clinic moves to its new location. The clinic’s toll-free contact information will remain the same.
