Zane Roy Middlemiss

Zane passed away suddenly on September 14, 2023, surrounded by family at the Red Deer Regional Hospital; He was 30 years old. Zane was always the charismatic ‘funny-guy’ with a contagious laugh and smile that lit up the room – this is how he will be remembered.

Predeceased by his maternal grandparents Ron and Kathy Komishke of Stettler, AB, and his paternal grandfather Roy Middlemiss of Rockburn, QC. Zane will be lovingly remembered by his mother Audra Komishke of Red Deer, AB and father Len Middlemiss of Brockville, ON; His sister Taylor Austin (Brady) of Alberta; His grandmother Shirley Middlemiss of Rockburn, QC; and finally, stepsisters Kimberly and Amanda Dobbin of Ontario. Zane also leaves behind numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, and many friends across Canada.

A private family service will take place in Red Deer, AB. A celebration of life will be held in the spring of 2024, giving those far and wide an opportunity to attend. This will be the sendoff that Zane would have wanted!

The family expresses their gratitude to the responding paramedics and frontline healthcare staff of the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit who provided care, compassion, and empathy to Zane and his family. Memorial donations can be made to the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation noting a tribute in memory of Zane; monies will be directed to assist the ICU social workers in providing comfort care support to future families.
