Alberta’s Finance Minister to tout province out east this week

Sep 2, 2023 | 3:56 PM

Finance Minister Nate Horner will be touting Alberta’s strong economic position in Ontario, Quebec and the US next week.

Horner heads to Toronto on Monday where he’ll meet with Ontario Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy on Tuesday.

He’ll then make his way to Montreal for meetings with stakeholders, before a similar trip to New York City.

“We know that economic volatility is inevitable. That’s why building a strong economy that can withstand economic down times is important,” says Horner.

“Alberta’s economy continues to prove resilient and our commitment to prudent fiscal management will ensure that Alberta’s future remains secure. We are confident in Alberta’s economic outlook and encourage businesses to invest in Alberta’s leading economy.”

This comes after the Alberta government recently said it was on track for a 2.4 billion surplus by the end of the fiscal year.
