Stettler RCMP respond to possible drowning

An extensive search is underway at a central Alberta lake for a missing teen from Airdrie.

On Aug. 29, 2023, at 4:20 p.m., Stettler RCMP received a report of a possible drowning on Buffalo Lake near Ol’ MacDonalds Resort.

Emergency crews including Stettler Fire, STARS air ambulance, and an RCMP drone responded. However, were unable to locate the victim who is believed to still be in the water.

Today, Aug. 30, 2023, Stettler RCMP with the assistance of support units and other agencies will continue the search for the missing 17-year-old.
