Mr. Edven ‘Ed’ S. Torgerson of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the age of 81 years. Ed was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on December 3, 1941, to Montana and Selmer Torgerson. Ed lived in the Spiritwood, Saskatchewan area until 1955. He then moved to Riverhurst, Saskatchewan to farm and was a real cowboy. He got his schooling in Spiritwood and Riverhurst. Ed’s family moved to Willowbrooke, where Ed farmed and did a lot of different work. There, he met and married his first wife, they had two daughters, Tammy and Tracey. After their divorce, he moved to Yorkton, Saskatchewan and trucked on and off all of his life. He then met his second wife, Lorraine who brought her daughter, Laurie and her granddaughter, Kori to the family. Ed drove a cab in the winter and did road construction in the summer. They moved to Lloydminster, Saskatchewan, where he became District Manager for the Edmonton Sun for fourteen years. He then bought the laundromat: E.T. Enterprise Laundry. Ed loved to tinker with the washers and dryers for fourteen years. Meanwhile, Ed and Lorraine bought a cabin at Brightsand Lake Regional Park and remodeled the cabin to make it a home. Ed’s two granddaughters, Tana and Umber and his two grandsons, Riley and Kory were born. Then Tara had Ed’s great granddaughters, Avalon, Avery and Sawyer. Then, Ed sold the lake house and bought a motorhome. He and Lorraine became snowbirds at Osoyoos, British Columbia for the winter and made their permanent home in Red Deer, Alberta, where all the kids were. Ed got sick in December, and then suffered a heart attack and four strokes. Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lorraine Torgerson; his three daughters, Tammy Torgerson, Tracey (Shane) Anderson, and Laurie (Ashley) Rehaluk; his five grandchildren, and his three great grandchildren. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Montana Anderson and Selmer Torgerson. No service will be held.
