Red Deer’s Afro-Caribbean Festival announces after-party and more

Organizers of the upcoming Afro-Caribbean Festival in Red Deer are adding some extra fun to the weekend schedule.

The festival, which runs August 12 & 13, now includes an after-party on night one (Saturday).

The after-party starts at 9 p.m. and runs until midnight at the Red Deer Elks Lodge (6315 Horn Street).

There will be cultural performances and food, and lots of music, including from Calgary’s Wes Kozy, and an Egyptian folk dancer from Edmonton.

Tickets are $27.96 each, before Aug. 5, then they go up to $33.28. For a table of eight, it’s $214.33 until Aug. 5, then $256.93 after.

Additionally, there is an ongoing online auction, and festival organizers are launching a 50/50 raffle before the end of July (available at accoca.ca)
