Mrs. Naida Mary Feil (nee Baron) passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 at the age of 90 years. Naida was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on September 6, 1932, to Carlton and Ada Baron. After Business College, Naida was employed in the Insurance Industry in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Calgary, Alberta. She was promoted to Underwriter after displaying her fierce work ethic and determination. This accomplishment was no small feat for a woman in the 1960’s. Naida married Arthur Feil in 1965 and began farming with her characteristic enthusiasm for hard work. She also became Mom to Marjorie, Susan and Connie. Art and Naida were ambitious individuals, raising purebred Horned Hereford Cattle and registered seed grain, always eager to expand their acres under cultivation. In 1974, they began their snowbird lifestyle making many new friends in their winter community in California. They organized the Serendipity Singers, where Naida played keyboard and Dad and friends sang their hearts out, cheering many folks in Long Term Care Centres. In 2002, they sold the farm near Trenville, and moved to Red Deer. They enjoyed being closer to their grandchildren, Lauren and Matthew. A great group of new neighbors now became wonderful friends. After Art passed in 2009, Naida continued to be involved with her friends and community. Playing bridge, volunteering with Lucky in the Pet Therapy Program and staying involved in her friends and families’ lives kept her busy. As always, Naida took immense pride in her home and yard, as well as her collections. Naida lived independently in her home until her passing. Her family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all the kind individuals who helped with homemaking, yard care, driving errands and sharing a cheery happy hour now and then. Naida will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Marjorie (Helmut), Susan and Connie (Richard); and her grandchildren, Lauren (Michael) and Matthew (Zoe). Naida was predeceased by her loving husband, Arthur; her parents, Carlton and Ada; and her siblings, Ken and Nedra.
