City of Red Deer conducting property assessments, meaning they may be in your area taking photos

Jul 20, 2023 | 12:04 PM

The City of Red Deer is advising residents that property inspections are now underway.

This means you may notice City staff in your neighbourhood, taking photographs of residential and non-residential properties.

The City’s assessment office collects and maintains descriptive information, those photos included, to assist with annual property assessments.

Currently, the photo inventory collection for the neighbourhoods of Anders, Deer Park, Garden Heights, Highland Green, Inglewood, Morrisroe, Mountview, Timber Ridge and Timberlands is being updated, The City says.

The process involves taking exterior photographs of the front of properties from the road or sidewalk, during regular business hours. Staff do not require access to private property to complete this work, which is expected to be complete by November.

Staff will be wearing reflective vests and photo ID, which are required for them to be carrying out this work.

More information about property assessments is available on The City’s website, www.reddeer.ca/assessment. Questions about property inspections can be directed to The City’s Revenue and Assessment section at 403-342-8235.
