It is with great sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of Darrin ‘DJ’ Joseph Pembroke at home on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from recently diagnosed lung cancer. Born in New Waterford in 1966, DJ was the son of Raymond (deceased) and Patricia (Nearing) Pembroke. He is also survived by brothers, Pius (April deceased), Glenn (Eulelia) and Carl (Zoey deceased); nieces Tia-Arie and Zakithy; and nephews Dekota and Enable. Also surviving are uncles, aunts and cousins in the Pembroke and Nearing families. He spent many successful years in a courageous battle with schizophrenia with the support of his mother, brothers and his primary physician, Dr. Fred Hanson. Special thanks to the staff and clients of Hope Medical in Red Deer for their continuous support and care of Darrin during his years of mental illness. You will be forever in our thoughts and prayers. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Parkland Funeral Home, 6287-67A Street (Taylor Drive) Red Deer, Alberta.
