Mrs. Lynda Mable DeWald of Red Deer, Alberta passed away unexpectedly at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Monday, May 22, 2023 at the age of 68 years. Lynda was born in Eckville, Alberta on February 11, 1955, to Nick and Phyllis Sherba. She was raised in Calgary. Lynda married Gord DeWald on March 30, 1974, and moved to Medicine Hat. In 1976, they welcomed their son, Shane. In 1986, they returned to Calgary, and she worked multiple jobs but mostly enjoyed caring for her family and home. In 2007, they moved to Red Deer where they resided until her passing. Lynda will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gord; her son, Shane (Misty); and her grandchildren, Ashley, Gabriel and Lily, as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Lynda was predeceased by her parents. A Celebration of Lynda’s Life was held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Lynda’s honor may be made directly to the Central Alberta Humane Society at www.cuhumane.com.
