The Market at Red Deer returns this Saturday at RDP

The Market at Red Deer returns for a 53rd year this Saturday.

The schedule is 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., every Saturday through October 7.

Patrick Moffat, who runs the market with sister Fiona, is excited to be back, and as everyone probably now knows, in a new location at Red Deer Polytechnic.

“It’s a bigger space, and of course the market is not unfamiliar with having to move on occasion, so we’re embracing it. The fact that the Polytechnic has given us a lot of support in this, the fact that citizens have continued to support us, we’re more than excited to be at this location,” says Moffat.

“It’s accessible, and even though it’s not the prime location, which we thought we were in before, we’re going to find out that this market is alive at this location, and may be better in a lot of ways. We’ll make the best of it.”

Specifically, the market will be in parking lots C, Public East, F West, and D (see below).

At least 150 vendors are expected for opening day, with that number anticipated to grow as the season gets warmer.

Bathrooms are in the building adjacent to the market, Moffat notes.

The market’s address is 100 College Boulevard.
