Mr. Brian James Knight-Davies of Coronation, Alberta passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at the age of 79 years. Brian was born in England on May 30, 1943. He immigrated to Canada in 1976, with his wife, Patricia and four children, (Julian, Jane, Tim and Kerry) to make a better life for his family. Brian and his family initially moved to a Dairy Farm in Ontario. Eighteen months later, they headed west to start a new life in Alberta. For the next seven years Brian worked on a cattle ranch near Rimbey. In 1988, Brian followed his dreams and purchased land to start his own homestead in Valleyview, Alberta. He built a house on poles and used his experience in farming to pursue ranching. Over the years, Brian worked on, and off, his ranch. Unfortunately, due to health issues, he was unable to retire on his land. Brian was a hard worker with a kind and gentle soul. He enjoyed reading and watching TV, (especially Coronation Street, Stargate and Ultimate Warrior). It was not uncommon to find Brian “resting his eyes” at the kitchen table. He treasured his collection of clocks and knives. He loved his family and could talk for hours on the phone. Brian was known for being a bit eccentric and didn’t like people to make a fuss. His British accent and polite manners were memorable to all those that met him. In October 2022, Brian bought a house in Coronation, Alberta. It became his new pride and joy. Brian will be remembered by his children, Julian (Shelley), Jane (Peter), Tim (Jeanette) and Kerry. Brian had numerous grandchildren, Falon, Lena (Chris), Ricky (Kelly), Regan, Sammi (Bob), Breanna, Paul (Hanna), Sarah (Sean), Elizabeth (Eric), Jessica, Tamara (Mitchell), Sonya, Ivan, Meegan (Stuart), Jaime (Matthew); Brian was blessed with multiple great grandchildren, Dane, Ilya, Oakland, Greyson, Hudson, Madison, Cassidy, Ben, Bobby, Layla, Michael, Adalyn, Elias, Maverick, Mykaila, Leah, Hayden and Skyler. Brian will also be sadly missed by his sister, Patricia (John) and his brother, David; his sisters-in-law, Jill (Dave) and Val; his brother-in-law, Mike; his extended family members Laurie, Lora, James and Lyle; as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Effie and Percival; his wife, Patricia; his son, Richard; his daughter-in-law, Wendy; his great granddaughter, Bentlee; his sisters-in-law, Shirley and Anne; and his brothers-in-law, Michael and Tony. Brian was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com
