Brenda Graf passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the age of 59 years. Brenda was born on June 12, 1963 at Pomona, California. Brenda was an adventurous soul who walked down many paths in life. She lived in various places throughout her life, including Calgary, Alberta, Vancouver, British Columbia and Sylvan Lake, Alberta, before settling in Red Deer. One of her first adventures was managing the Stateline Bar in Montana with her father, Al, a daunting challenge at a young age. It was two floors that catered to both country fans and rock ‘n’ roll fans. Shortly after, Brenda moved to the Island of Maui where she worked, enjoyed the Pacific sun and fell in love with the ocean. Brenda continued on to the Caribbean, where she cruised around the seas working as a bartender, eventually ending up on the Coco Chanel Superyacht working as a stewardess. She then sailed across the Atlantic on another vessel, working and experiencing life below the deck, and travelling Europe. Brenda retuned to Red Deer for a family visit, and soon chose to stay and be involved in the family business; first as the manager of the Sports Page, then as Operations Manager at the Printing Place, where she worked until retiring. Brenda was very thankful for her FREEDOM 49! While Brenda was always very fond of her adventures, domestic and abroad, she was also very supportive as she cheered on the people she loved and enjoyed involvement in different organizations in the community of Red Deer, such as the “Affair of the Arts” fundraiser for Red Deer College and the Red Deer Rebels. Brenda fought a valiant fight against Multiple Sclerosis that spanned over fifteen years. With the help of her incredible team, she was able to fulfill her wish to live independently to the end. Brenda will be lovingly remembered by her father, Alfred Graf, her brothers, Paul (Candice) Graf of Lacombe, Alberta and Troy (Cindi) Graf of Edmonton, Alberta. She will also be sadly missed by her nephew, Brandon (Whitney) Graf and her nieces, Ashley (Aaron) den Oudsten, Emma Gardner, Hannah Graf, Morgan (Sheldon) Graf, and Taylor Graf, as well as her great nieces and nephew, Adeline, Everly, Jacob and Grace. Brenda was predeceased by her mother, Elaine Graf (nee Cozma and Daradich). A Celebration of Brenda’s Life was held at Tiffany’s Steakhouse and Lounge, 3515 Gaetz Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. (snacks and drinks available until 3:30 p.m.) Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
