Red Deer declares 2023 the ‘Year of the Volunteer’
The City of Red Deer has declared 2023 as the Year of the Volunteer.
On Thursday, Mayor Ken Johnston made the proclamation outside City Hall alongside City staff, councillors, and volunteers from various non-profits.
“Woven together, volunteerism reinforces our ability to grow, thrive and create change within our community, province and country. Volunteerism allows you to connect to your community and make it a better place. Even helping in the smallest tasks can make a real difference to the lives of people, animals and organizations in need,” he said.
