MILNE, Darren James- Passed away following a 4-year long battle with Esophageal Cancer. Darren passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023, on the first day of spring at Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 54. Darren was surrounded by his family at the time of passing.

Born in Barrie, Ontario, son of late Andrew Thomas Milne and survived by his mother Donna Trueman (Robin Weatherill) of Angus and his sister Shelley Milne of Collingwood.

A loving partner of 25 years and common law spouse Darren will be deeply missed by Kathy Howell.

Darren was also a loving father to Alexis Violet Milne (Zach Turpin) of Barrie and stepfather to Jordan, Jason and Justin Howell.

Darren was a beloved Grandfather to Harlie Violet & Brinley Rose Turpin of Barrie.

Cremation has already taken place and a casual “Celebration of Life” will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 499, 15 Fraser St. in Angus Ontario on Saturday, May 27^th at 2 pm. Guests are invited to gather and remember Darren’s life with family and friends. A light luncheon will be served.

An intimate family “Celebration of Life” and tree planting ceremony will also be planned early summer in Loring, Ontario.  Darren’s love of fishing and all things related to the outdoors was life-long and we will do our best to remember the good times and the happy times!
