Mr. Robert ‘Bob’ Piesse passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at the Rosefield Centre, Innisfail, Alberta at the age of 90 years. Bob was born at Innisfail, Alberta on December 15, 1932. He was the eldest of the five children of Bobby and Ruby Piesse (nee Kelly). He lived his entire life in and around Innisfail. Upon his father’s passing, and his mother’s remarriage, five more children were added to the family. Bob was very skilled curler and a great golfer who was active in the Innisfail Golf Club; he was a lover of hockey and the best “hockey dad” and a favorite coach; he knew baseball and football from the inside out. Bob was also a passionate Rockhound, completing an amazing collection of gems and minerals in his later years. He supported his wife, Kathleen, in her music ventures, built numerous kennels and runs for her dogs, and fenced many a pasture for her horses. He was a hard worker through a range of jobs, from trucking to Corrections at the Bowden Institution, shipping and receiving, and later on, he delivered mail before retiring. Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty-three years, Kathleen Piesse (nee Cameron), his three sons, Marty, Mike (Corinna) and Matt (Trish), his seven grandchildren, Jacquie (Cam), Logan (Kaisha), Megan, Sierra (Dylan), Cassidy, Madison and McKenna, as well as his six great grandchildren, Cash, Katie, LilyAnn, Merle, Wade and Mattie. He will also be deeply missed by his sisters, Jean Tinordi, Pat Rankin (Larry) and Marg Anderson (Marcel), as well as his brother, Terry (Shauna). Among his several nieces and nephews, ‘Uncle Bob’ was special to his great niece, Ashley MacDonald (Chris). Bob was predeceased by his brother, David Allan and his sister-in-law, Marilyn, his brother, Doug and his sister-in-law, Valerie, and his sister, Shirley Inglis and his brother-in-law, Dennis, as well as his brothers, Arthur ‘Bump’ (Janice) and Edward (Meridel). Bob was a kind man, he loved little children, old people and animals. ‘Bob, Dad, Grandpa Bob, Uncle Bob’ was very much loved and will be sadly missed by so many.
