Mrs. Betty Josephine Dube of Bluffton, Alberta passed away at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Center, Rimbey, Alberta on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the age of 84 years. Betty was born in Bentley, Alberta and raised in the Polter Creek District. Betty received her training as a Lab and X-Ray Technician in Edmonton, Alberta and enjoyed a career spanning thirty-five years. Betty married her first husband, Dave Keay in 1955, and resided on the farm in the Leedale area, where Paulette was born in 1971. After a second marriage to Aurele Dube in 1977, she then reunited with Dave after thirty-eight years in 2014. Betty’s many ventures included owning and operating the Bluffton City General Store, a deer farm, and the construction of a large laying hen barn at the farm. Betty was also a member of the David Thompson Health Region Board, and a member of the Bluffton Community Hall Society for over thirty years. Betty was well known to have amazing and bountiful gardens, four hundred saskatoon bushes to love and care for, and the many meals and baked goods – something for her friends and neighbors to enjoy with her. Betty was known for lending a helping hand when needed to anyone. Family and friends will recall many camping, fishing, hiking, and exploring trips. Also the times spent playing cards with a special friend, and Betty always had time to enjoy a cup of coffee and kinship. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Paulette (Carey) Kuzio of Bluffton, Alberta; her stepdaughter, Sundie (Herman) Kerrklaan of Bluffton, Alberta; her three stepsons, Ritchie Dube of Kelowna, British Columbia, Gary Dube of Rimbey, Alberta, and Rodger Dube of Kelowna, British Columbia, her grandchildren and her step grandchildren; Dagen, Keagan, Kennedy, Emily, Kira, Avery, Alyssa, and Treè. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Irene, a sister, Joyce Pierlot, a brother, Leo Hohn, her husband, Dave Keay, her husband, Aurele Dube, and a step grandson, Troy.
