The family of Ole Jakobsen is sad to announce his sudden passing on Thursday, February 16, 2023, just four days before his 75th birthday. Ole was a kind and loving soul; a talented contractor/bricklayer, a brother, father, uncle, grandfather and a great friend to many. He was born in Odense, Denmark in 1948, where he spent the first half of his life before moving to Canada. In Red Deer, Ole leaves behind his sister, Dr. Jytte Roy-Poulsen; his nieces, Tammy McArthur and Ann Waschuk, along with grandnieces, grandnephews and a great grandnephew. In Denmark, he leaves behind two sons, Henrik (with Jane) and Jonas Jakobsen (with Alice) as well as Jonas’s girls, the cherished granddaughters, Carolina and Kristina. He also leaves behind much beautiful tile and brick work, which graces the homes and yards of this community as well as those in Denmark. But perhaps more importantly, he leaves behind the gift of kindness, laughter, and authenticity, which will ever be held in the hearts of all those who knew him. We gathered to raise a glass in honor and gratitude to him at the East 40th Pub in Red Deer. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com
