With heavy hearts, our family announces the passing of Mildred Elizabeth Taylor on February 9, 2023, at the age of 97 years. Mildred was born on October 8, 1925, in New York, U.S.A. to Leslie and Helen Purdy. She graduated from Shrub Oak High School and then attended Pace College in Westchester, New York. From there working at the Readers Digest in Pleasantville, NJ. Mildred married James Taylor on August 29, 1970, and just shortly after welcomed their adopted son Floyd in 1971. They moved to Brownfield, AB where they started farming. Meadowlark Farms become the homestead, where they farmed 800 acres until 1988. Mildred’s strong faith led her to many missionary travels where she dedicated her love she had for Jesus. Mildred also worked at Nyack College. In 2015, her husband James passed away. Mildred made her move to the Three Hills area and then into the Lodge 2017. In 2020 she moved to Lethbridge until her passing. Mildred enjoyed crafts. She had a collection of stamps, coins and birds. She also was a painter; she painted many beautiful art pieces that are currently displayed and were gifted to many close friends. Mildred is survived by her son Floyd (Patsy) Taylor; grandchildren Cherlynn and Darrell; great grand children James and Grayson; sister-in-law Charlotte (Dale); and many nieces and nephews In Lieu of flowers a memorial donations can be made directly to CNIB..
