Mitchell “Mitch” Wayne Riley
July 21, 1961 – January 16, 2023
It is with a heavy hearts we are to inform you heaven gained another angel. Mitch fought several health battles for a couple of years and his body said the time has come for eternal rest. Mitch passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.
Mitch was a loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Born to William “Bill” Riley and Edith (Aitken) Bergen in Red Deer, AB. Mitch married the love of his life 36 years ago, Barb, and settled in Red Deer.
He is predeceased by his parents, his sister Debbie, step mom Lyla, in laws Vi & Morley Dell as well as many other relatives and fur- babies.
Mitch is survived by his wife Barb and fur- baby Terwilliger. As well as brothers: Jim (Annie) and Kim; stepbrothers: Lawrence (Val) Rangen, and Darcy Rangen; stepsisters: Monica Matson and Elaine (Perry) Unger; brothers-in-law: Norb Lenius, Michael (IIdiko), Dell, Brian (Joanne) Dell, and James (Gina) Dell; and sister-in-law Jan (Ernie) Chaves. As well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Mitch loved the outdoors especially fishing.
At Mitch’s request there is no funeral service, but he asked that everyone have a drink and toast to his memory.
Memorial Donations may be made in Mitch’s name to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
