No one injured in Rosedale garage fire

Fortunately no one was hurt following a garage fire in Red Deer’s Rosedale neighbourhood Tuesday afternoon.

Curtis Schaefer, Assistant Deputy Chief with Red Deer Emergency Services (RDES), says crews were called to the scene on Roland Street around 4:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, he says crews found a single detached garage fully engulfed in flames. Schaefer says 16 firefighters were on scene, including one command officer and one ambulance.

He says the blaze was extinguished in about 15-20 minutes, with crews remaining on scene for close to two hours to help ensure any hot spots were put out.
