John Webber
1942 – 2022
John Herbert James Webber MMM CD, (Retd), passed away peacefully December 6, 2022, in Red Deer Alberta. He is survived by his loving wife Diane, his daughter Carma (Frank), granddaughters Calille and Adria, sons Adam (Terra) and John Jr. His brothers Chris (Nat) and Tommy, his sisters Casey and Linda (Des) and nieces and nephews. John is predeceased by his parents John and Marie, Sister Caroline, Brothers Wally and Jamie.
John leaves behind his many friends that he had so much fun with over the years, camping, hiking you all know who you are. Also, his cats that he loved with all his heart. We want to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff on unit 32 at Red Deer Regional Hospital and Red Deer Hospice, for their kindness and treating John with dignity while he was in their care.
John was born on July 20th, 1942, in Toronto Ontario Canada. He spent 33.5 years in the Canadian Armed Forces with 6 of them in the RCAF. John’s military career took him to Cairo Egypt in 1974, Golan Heights Syria in 1978 with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force. Other missions include CFS Alert and Ascension Island.
John’s honours and awards include Member of the Order of Military Merit (MMM),
Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal, UN Emergency Force Middle East (UNEFME),
UN Disengagement Observation Force (UNDOF), Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, Canadian Forces’ Decoration (CD) with 2 bars.
A celebration of life is planned for July 20, 2023.
