It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gertrude ‘Trudy’ Mary McMillin. Trudy passed away peacefully at the Hamlets at Red Deer on Monday, October 3, 2022 at the age of 91 years. Trudy was born in Southey, Saskatchewan to Victor and Gisela Pestyk. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Trudy’s memory will live on in her children, Michael McMillin, Maureen (Jay) Brooks, Valerie (Ralph) Margareeth, David McMillin, Donald McMillin, Kathleen McMillin, and Patricia (Darlene) McMillin, her grandchildren, Thomas, Jennifer, Geoffrey, and Christina, and her great grandchildren, Emily, Nathan, Derek, Alea, Taylor, Cady, Kiela, Grace, Cobi, and Cali. Trudy was predeceased by her parents, a son, Daniel, a granddaughter, Patricia Brooks a brother, Valerarian (Kay), a sister, Claudia (Norman), and a brother, Otto (Liz). Thank you to all the nurses and caregivers at the Hamlets for your care of her these past years, and to Parkland Funeral Home. In keeping with Trudy’s wishes, a Graveside Service will be held at the Alto Reste Cemetery, Red Deer County, Alberta, on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium.
