Aspire’s Evening of Decadent Dessert September 29

Sep 27, 2022 | 10:36 AM

Tickets are on sale now for the Evening of Decadent Dessert, Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre’s signature event, with a fundraising goal of $130,500.

And while the event has moved from May to September this year, organizers say attendees can expect the same night of excitement, community spirit and of course … lots and lots of creative and decadent desserts.

“We are very excited to be able to host Evening of Decadent Dessert and welcome everyone back for our new date of September 29. We look forward to seeing both old friends and new, join us to support Aspire and enjoy a fantastic evening together.” said Melissa Vine, Community Relations Supervisor at Aspire.

Guests will enjoy a champagne reception, various raffles, entertainment, silent auction, dinner buffet, the famous decadent dessert buffet then capped off with highlight of the night, live auctions featuring one-of-a-kind cakes paired with unique experiences.

“With less than a month to go, we invite you to get involved by purchasing tickets, donating silent auction items, live auction items, or desserts, as well as supporting Aspire through larger scale sponsorships,” stated Vine.

“This is such an important event for Aspire as the funds raised from Evening of Decadent Dessert are essential to support our programs and specialized equipment purchases, as well as fee assistance for families,” said Karen Jackman, Aspire’s events coordinator.

Evening of Decadent Dessert would not exist without the backing of the central Alberta community and Aspire is grateful for the support, say organizers.

Jackman explained that, “It takes generous sponsors, over 70 volunteers and countless donors to help bring this event to life. We are grateful to our amazing Aspire Community who help make this all possible. Evening of Decadent Dessert has grown from a humble bake sale to one of the community’s largest events – and this could not have happened without the amazing people who support us in whatever capacity they can.”

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. at the Parkland Pavilion at the Westerner Grounds in Red Deer. Tickets are available now for $100 per person or $750 for a table of eight. Charitable tax receipts will be issued for a portion of the ticket price.
