William Edward Halverson
October 11, 1931 – August 25, 2022
Our much loved Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, Uncle and friend, Ed has left us to join Mabel in Heaven. We will miss his kindness, love and laughter. We are so grateful for the time we had with him.
He was a devoted husband to the love of his life, Mabel, for sixty years from 1957-2017. He was a father to Judy (David), Pam (Brent), Lorna (Greg) and Wanda (Jason), a grandfather to Alyssa, Sarah (Corby), Ben, Bryan, Morgan, Liam and Owen. A great-grandfather to Lindsey, Elodie, Hazel, Aubrey and William. He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Eleanor, and his younger sister Anne.
Along with Mabel, he was involved in his community through volunteer work in the Anglican Church and RDC Art Centre. Though he always had a project on the go, he never turned down an opportunity to make time for friends and family (and golf). After a long career in the petro-chemical industry, which took him and his family from west to east and back again, retirement gave Ed and Mabel a chance to travel the world and spend time in the sun with friends and hobbies that they loved; they enjoyed many winters together as snowbirds at Palm Creek Casa Grande in Arizona.
A celebration of Ed’s life will be held at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, 4929 54 Street, Red Deer on October 7th, 2022 at 1:00 pm. All are welcome.
Donations can be made in his honour to the Red Deer Hospice, the Canadian Cancer Society or The Lending Cupboard in Red Deer.
