1. You are all invited to the Red Deer River Naturalists Flower Focus Group Another Berry Nice Walk

When: September 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m.

Where: Barrett Park Red Deer, Alberta

Your Host: Another Berry Nice Walk with Don Wales

During a walk on the forested trails of Barrett Park, Red Deer, Alberta there will be samplings of a variety of syrups made from some of our native plants on a square of Don’s world-famous buttermilk cornmeal bread. Meet at the parking lot of the Kinex arena near the exercise park.

2. You are all invited to the Red Deer River Naturalists Speaker Night

When: September 22, 2022 – 7:00 p.m.

Where: Held at the Kerry Wood Nature Centre Red Deer, Alberta in the Theatre room.

Speakers: Graeme Gissing & Dr. Natalia Lifshitz

Topic: Nature Central: Celebrating our Wild Alberta Parklands

Come for an evening with our Speakers. Graeme Gissing will share RDRN/Nature Central activities and events that took place during the summer of 2022, and discuss the successes and opportunities for increased utilization of natural areas in the region and present a forward-looking plan to ensure an even more successful 2023.

Dr. Lifshitz will share her experiences visiting and documenting habitat and wildlife details on protected sites within a 100 kms radius of Red Deer.

Graeme currently teaches at Red Deer Polytechnic and is the Education & Program Coordinator with RDRN. Natalia is currently the Scientific Advisor at Ellis Bird Farm and the Naturalist-in-residence with RDRN.
