The family of Mrs. Orysia ‘Iris’ Rosalia Davison regrets to inform of her passing at the Red Deer Hospice on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the age of 74 years. Orysia was born on July 22, 1948 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. From a young age, Orysia became involved in sports and was a competitive athlete. At various times in her life, she participated in basketball, volleyball, hockey, fastball, slow pitch, tennis, golf, curling, hiking and biking. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren in their respective sports all year round. Her other interests included photography and travel. She started her career in Peace River, Alberta as a Dietician. It was there, she met and married Richard Davison, and their children were born. The family subsequently moved to St. Paul and then to Lethbridge. During this time, she met and became close friends with a number of people whom she worked with, and continued to stay in contact with, after retirement. She enjoyed volunteering for community functions and participated in charitable events. The most important things in her life were family and friends and keeping in contact with all was her priority. The family will greatly miss her zest for life, indomitable spirit, kindness, sense of humor and most of all her incredible smile. Orysia will be greatly missed by her family, extended family and dear friends. Orysia is survived by her loving husband, Richard; her son, Kevin (Jennifer) Davison of Calgary, and her daughter, Jennifer Davison of Red Deer; and her beloved grandchildren, Sophie, Olivia, Jace, and Finlee. She will also be sadly missed by her brother, Bohdan (Sylvia) Markowsky; her sister, Johanne (Robert) Isbister and her sisters-in-law, Carol Markowsky and Jean Markowsky, as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Orysia was predeceased by her by parents, John and Kay Markowsky; her twin brother, Orest Markowsky and her brother, Zenon Markowsky.
