Mr. John Charles Fuller of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at home on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at the age of 75 years. John was born in Castor, Alberta on October 30, 1946. He was the third of six children born to John and Susie Fuller. He grew up on a farm where he learned strong work ethic that he carried with him throughout his life. John was grateful his sense of adventure and love for travel were supported by his parents. At the age of seventeen, he took a cruise ship to Australia where he worked for almost two years. This was the first of his many travel adventures. John was not afraid to tackle anything; with his entrepreneurial spirit he developed and enjoyed running his own oilfield company, ‘Fullkote’, for many years. He married the love of his life, Lynda Steinwand in 1967. After a few years of work and travel John and Lynda welcomed their first child, Tina. Three years later, their son, Nolan joined the family. They all enjoyed country living and many happy years were spent raising their family on their acreage in Morningside, Alberta. In 1993, Nolan was taken to his heavenly home at the age of seventeen years. A year later, John and Lynda were happy to welcome their son-in-law, Nathan Campbell into the family. Nathan and Tina were blessed with two sons, Gabriel and Cruz, who brought a new spark of joy into their lives. John’s favorite pastimes were spending time with his children and grandsons quadding, skidoo-ing and travelling to different parts of the world together. John’s interests included many work projects around the acreage, writing limericks, sharing his jokes, which he never forgot, and in retirement years, writing his memoirs for Gabe and Cruz. He also valued time with friends and his daily quiet times by the river. Although it is hard to say goodbye, we are grateful John is now reunited with Nolan in heaven and we know we will see them both again one day. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at Camp Silversides on August 22, 2022 at 3:30 p.m. To honor John’s wishes, it will be a casual firepit style gathering.
