Mr. Roland ‘Rolly’ Joseph Buan passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre in Red Deer, Alberta, on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the age of 83 years. Rolly was born on June 25, 1939 in Loon Lake Saskatchewan to parents, John and Cecile Buan. Rolly’s favorite things were travelling, curling, golfing, dancing, bowling, camping, and spending seven years in Arizona, after retirement. He spent most of his working years in Marketing in the Oil Patch. Rolly enjoyed the work and the people he worked with, and thoroughly enjoyed curling in countless Oil Patch Bonspiels and Golfing Tournaments. He also served on various Boards relating to the Oil Industry, and in the condos where he lived. Rolly leaves to mourn his wife of forty-five years, Pearl; his son, Raymond (Karen) Buan, his daughter, Rhonda (Bob) Gosse, his brothers, Denis and Maurice (Lainy) and his sister, Lucille (Steve) Suvak; his grandchildren, Marina, Crystal, Robert (Shauna), Taylor (Jordan), his two great granddaughters, Mariah and Rachel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and all of Pearl’s family, including many great friends. Rolly was predeceased by his parents, John and Cecile, his brothers, Roger and Jerry and his sister, Aurora. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Golden Circle, 4620 – 47a Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Rolly’s honour may be made directly to The Lending Cupboard at www.lendingcupboard.ca.
