It is with profound sadness that Bonnie’s family announces her passing at 78 years old, on August 5, 2022, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer; surrounded by loved ones, who promise to honour her legacy by living lift to its fullest. She was born May 17, 1944 to parents George and Hilda Harrison, in Carman, Manitoba. Bonnie moved to Calgary in summer 1966 for work, and to see another part of the country. While in Calgary, Bonnie and Lorne met during Stampede Week at an Elks Club social in 1966, and she never looked back.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Bonnie; visiting with friends, cooking, reading, camping, gardening, and most of all her grandchildren Cole, Reese, Tara-Jane, and Carter. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lorne; children Scott (Heidi), Greg, brother James of Carman, Manitoba, Aunt Alice, Uncle Ken, and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Hilda Harrison.
Her family would like to express their gratitude to Seasons Encore Retirement, and the Olds & District Hospice Society.
In keeping with Bonnie’s wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, you are invited to donate to a charity of your choice.
