Temporary closure of Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service
The Sylvan Lake Advanced Ambulatory Care Service (SLAACS) will be closed June 20 until 3 p.m. due to an unexpected gap in physician coverage.
According to Alberta Health Services (AHS), normal hours of 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. will resume June 21, 2022.
Officials say this temporary closure is necessary as the service cannot operate without a physician onsite. Options to secure alternative coverage have been exhausted, says AHS, noting that reducing hours is a last resort.
Patients arriving at SLAACS during this time are being redirected to other care options as appropriate. These options include returning later in the day when the service resumes, booking an appointment with their family doctor, or calling Health Link at 811 for medical information and advice.
