Sentencing scheduled for man charged in axe wielding Ponoka vandalism spree
Sentencing is scheduled next month for a man charged in an axe wielding vandalism spree in Ponoka nearly four years ago.
Joseph Soosay, 22, is scheduled for sentencing in Wetaskiwin Court of Queen’s Bench on May 18, 2022.
He faces 13 counts, including disguise with intent, two counts of arson damage to property, five counts of mischief damage to property, three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, theft under $5000, and breach of conditions.
Mounties say several windows were smashed with an axe and a shed set on fire during a two-hour period in downtown Ponoka on Aug. 13 and 14, 2018.
