Mrs. Lorna Jean Sinclair (Brewster) passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at the age of 89 years. Lorna was born October 6, 1932 in Innisfail, Alberta to parents James and Jean Brewster of Bowden.
Lorna graduated from the University of Alberta in the spring of 1953 and later that year married Donald Sinclair on October 17th. Together they farmed and raised their three boys. After 54 years together Lorna was predeceased by Don in 2007.
She was an active member of the Bowden United Church and the Order of the Eastern Star as well as being an ardent volunteer giving countless hours to the Summit Ladies Aide and the Bowden Thrift Store.
Don and Lorna enjoyed several trips to Hawaii to break away from the Alberta winters. Upon retiring they became ‘snowbirds’ making the annual winter trek to Yuma, Arizona in their motor home. Lorna was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing several rounds a week well into her 70’s. She was very active in her social community and loved playing cards with friends and having tea with the neighbors.
Lorna absolutely adored looking after her grandkids, keeping them entertained with baking cookies, gardening and attending as many of their sporting events as possible.
Lorna is lovingly survived by her three sons and their families, Jack (Heather), Dan (Ileana), Glen (Carolynn), her eight grandchildren, Erin (Gerry), Jennifer (Marshall), Ashley (Blair), Robyn (Ashton) Ian, Luke, Clay, Paige and her eight great grandchildren, Emily, Cassidy, Carson, Hank, Grace, Auston, Anistyn and Madison. She is also survived by two brothers and four sisters-in-law, Bob (Iyla) Brewster and Ab (Michele) Brewster, Melva Brewster and Betty Brewster. She was predeceased by sister, Mary (Royal) Nelson and brothers Bill Brewster and Jim Brewster.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Innisfail United Church on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.
