Mrs. Grace Hamilton a long-time resident, of the Innisfail area, passed away peacefully at Revera Aspen Ridge, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the age of 96 years. Grace was born in Innisfail, Alberta on June 8, 1925. She attended the Little Red Deer School and the Innisfail High School. After High School, she attended Garbutt’s Business College in Calgary. She worked at Ashdowns Hardware until she married Thomas Gilray Hamilton on September 21, 1949. They moved to the Hamilton Homestead East of Innisfail, where they built their home and raised a family of four. Grace was a member of the Innisfail United Church, Horseshoe Lake WI and Club 51. She also taught Sunday School. Grace was an excellent cook and took pride in everything she did. She was a busy mom, running kids to piano, dancing, singing lessons and was quite involved in their 4-H activities. Once the kids were finished school, she went back into the work force at Woodland Motors, Fearnside Motors and the Independent Creamery. She enjoyed her outside job very much and also enjoyed the change of pace. One of her greatest joys was when the grandchildren started arriving. She loved spending time with them and teaching them new things.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends in the Red Hat Club in Innisfail. Grace will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her children, Gavin (Mabel), Wendy (Don), Jamie (Jacquie), Robbie (Gail), her grandchildren, Linsey, Jillian (Scott), her grand daughter-in-law, Charity Chalack, Colton, Quinn (Brendyn), Wyatt (Stacey), Wacey (Carlye), Joel (Taylor), Teneille (Mark), Dane (Amber), Bryce, Chase (Kenzie) and her great grandchildren, Paige, Nathan, Marshall, Maddyn, Miller, Chloe, Aiden, Azure, Romee, Oshie, Lennon, Ivy. She will also be sadly missed by her sister-in-law, Marie Bradshaw; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Grace was predeceased by her husband, Tom in 2003, a grandson, Logan Chalack in 2016, her parents, David and Bertha Bradshaw and her siblings, Jack, Joe, Alma, Ruth, Bert and David. A Celebration of Grace’s Life will be held at the Belvin Angus Farm on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. 28353 – Twp Rd. 342, Red Deer County.
