1932 ~ Betty Irene Bales ~ 2022 "She will be truly missed, but the memories we have will remain in our hearts forever."

Betty Bales passed away peacefully in the Olds Hospital on March 8th, 2022, at the age of 89 years surrounded by her immediate family. Betty was the oldest of 6 children born to Tom and Eva Edwards. Betty was born west of Carstairs on her Grandparents Nelson and Almeda Reist’s farm. Betty attended Banner School, then finished her education in Carstairs. She met the love of her life, Douglas Bales, and they were married August 6, 1955. Together they purchased a small home in Carstairs. Betty worked for several local businesses in Carstairs. Doug and Betty raised three children, Wayne, David, and Kathy. She was a member of the local Legion Branch 53, and she enjoyed working with Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She also belonged to the Carstairs Church of God WCG.
She will be truly missed, but the memories we have will remain in our hearts forever. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her 3 children Wayne (Gail) Bales, David Bales (Dee), Kathy Stevens, grandchildren Brent, Renay, Shelley, Mark. Siblings Jack Edwards (Edna), Linda Renfert (Wayne), Dale Edwards (Dolly) Sister-in-law Carol Edwards, Brother-in-law Randy McNeil. Betty was predeceased by loving husband Doug, parents Tom and Eva Edwards, brother Bob Edwards, and sister Judy McNeil. A private family service will be held at the Carstairs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the S.T.A.R.S
