Deborah Lynn ‘Debbie’ Klingbeil passed away peacefully in her sleep, at home, on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the age of 60 years.
Debbie was born to James and Carol Ozon (née Burton) on May 22 1961. She spent her childhood in Nova Scotia with her sisters, Jeannie, Elizabeth, and Susan. In 1976, Debbie’s family moved to Hinton, Alberta. Debbie made many good friends and good memories in Hinton. She met her future husband, Kelly Klingbeil in High School and they were married in 1983.
Debbie’s three sons, Cody (1985), Aaron (1988) and Alex “Spud”(1990) were a source of great joy in her life. The family moved several times, and settled in Rocky Mountain House in 2001. Debbie was an enthusiastic community member in every town she called home. She was a passionate volunteer, hairdresser, craftswoman, socialite, cake decorator, interior designer, real estate agent, seamstress, antiquities expert, entrepreneur, florist, baker, homemaker, daughter, sister, mother, and friend.
Debbie moved to Sylvan Lake in 2010. She met George on a dating site in 2011, and it was a true “opposite attracts” love match. Debbie’s positive disposition was a perfect foil for George’s witty world weary outlook on life. They enjoyed ten years together and supported one another through many health challenges; always with a positive outlook. Debbie will be dearly missed by her family and large circle of friends.
Debbie will be fondly remembered by her loving fiancé, George Killam, mother, Carol Carpenter, sisters, Jeannie (Bjørn) Høydal, Elizabeth (Rick) Gorski, Susan (Byron) Foss, sons Cody (Leannna) Klingbeil, Aaron (Carmen) Klingbeil, Alex “Spud” Klingbeil, grandson, Magnus, many extended family members and a countless number of close friends. Debbie was predeceased by her father, James Ozon (1978).
A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, Red Deer, Alberta.
