Janet Helen Schafer of Kevisville passed away peacefully on January 19, 2022 at the age of 74. She was born on March 12, 1947 in Innisfail, Alberta. She is survived by her husband Robert (Bob) Howard, her children Mikkel Schafer, Laura Hingsburger (Perry), brothers Stanley Boye, Donnie Morrice, Libby (The Cat) and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family. She is predeceased by her parents Jenny Boye (Moman) and Marinus M. Boye, step-father Ed (Shorty) Morrice, brothers Kenneth Boye, Ronnie Morrice, husband Mervin J. Schafer. She lived in the Kevisville area her entire life. Being a stay-at-home mother raising her children. She later worked at Alberta Nurseries’, then worked for the Red Deer County as a traffic control person. Later, she assisted Bob with the accounting side of his business keeping track of bales hauled, accounts receivables and payables. She loved to try out new baking recipes, cook, sew, read a good novel, needle-work, and gardening. Most of all, having a great conversation and laugh over of a pot of coffee with her latest baked creation with numerous friends in the community. Janet has requested that there be no service. Cremation entrusted to Heartland Funeral Services of Innisfail. As an expression of sympathy, Memorial Donations may be made to the Breathe Lung Association Alberta, P.0. Box 4500, Station South, Edmonton, Alberta T6E 6K2 or the Kevisville Community Church.
