Mr. Arthur Wilson Hillson was born on June 3, 1925 in London, England. He attended a private school until the age of fourteen and then worked with his father on the family farm. The family moved to Canada in February of 1947. They landed in Halifax and made the long journey across the country to the farm they purchased at Elnora, Alberta. Arthur purchased the farm in 1965 and took great pride in farming the land and raising his cattle. He met Grace in 1953 and they were married in February, 1954. They had two children: Prophet and Anne. Raising his family, farming and devotion to the church were all important aspects of Arthur’s life. Grace and Arthur retired and moved to Oliver, British Columbia in 1982. They had a beautiful collection of friends and enjoyed their hobbies in retirement. Arthur, a prolific painter, created many beautiful landscape paintings of his surroundings in the Valley. He was also active in the church and the choir. He had a love of gardening and tended a beautiful garden everywhere he lived. In 2005, Grace and Arthur moved back to Innisfail, Alberta to be close to family. He enjoyed a rich life in Innisfail; gardening, painting, singing in the choir, attending church and enjoying family. In January 2012, Grace passed away. Arthur lived in Innisfail in his own home until his passing on January 13, 2022 at the age of 96 years. He is lovingly survived by his son, Prophet (Bev) and daughter, Anne (Dan), his grandchildren, Jeannie (Randy), Stephanie (Al), Charlene (Brent), John (Nicole) and his great grandchildren Amber, Teagan, Kaela, Anna, Evan, Kayden, and Emmett, with another on the way. He will be fondly remembered and missed as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. A Private Family Funeral Service will be held.
