On January 11, 2022, after a courageous 20 month battle with cancer, Kathy peacefully passed away at the age of 76 at the Red Deer Hospital knowing she was loved, admired and cherished by her family and many wonderful friends.

Born in Galahad Alberta, the second oldest of eight children, Kathy grew up on the family farm just outside of Heisler Alberta. After high school she attended the University of Alberta to obtain her Education degree, opening the doors to her passion throughout her adult life. As a teacher both in profession and in life, Kathy shaped, guided and encouraged her young students and the adults around her with the lessons and values she learned growing up on the farm and through the church.

She loved to experience life and explore the world around her. She took great joy in spending time with her friends and family, cultivating lasting relationship everywhere she went. Her beaming smile and contagious laugh will always be remembered. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
