Edna Coulter Declared Elected

Town of Blackfalds announces unofficial Municipal By-Election results

The Town of Blackfalds has announced the unofficial results of its 2022 Municipal By-Election held on Jan. 10.

• Edna Coulter – 108 votes, declared elected.
• Ray Olfert – 49 votes
• Will Taylor – 32 votes

Town officials note that 189 of 7,000 eligible voters cast ballots in this election.

The Blackfalds by-election fills the councillor position left vacant by Amanda Valin who was initially elected to council with 684 votes on Oct. 18, 2021.

Valin was elected for the first time to town council in the Oct. 18 municipal election, but announced she was stepping away in the days that followed.
