Clara Maxine Benson

Clara Maxine Benson was born on a farm east of Turin, Alberta on Feb. 19, 1931.
She spent her childhood in Turin and Lomond AB. Later her parents opened a restaurant in Lomond where she helped out. There she met the love of her life, Lloyd Benson. Mom and Dad were married in Vulcan, AB on March 6, 1948. From this union, three daughters were born. Judy, Clara and Marjorie. Mom and Dad farmed at Lomond and Endiang before moving to Calgary where Mom worked for Eaton’s as invoice clerk and customer service. In the early nineties, they retired and moved to High River, Alberta. They spent their time camping, fishing and spending time with family.
After Dad’s passing, Mom moved to Red Deer, around 2000, to be closer to family. She enjoyed her flowers and sitting on the deck.
Later on she spent time at Timberstone Mews and Bethany CollegeSide. There she peacefully passed away in her sleep on Dec. 28, 2021.
She is survived by daughters, Judy (Doug) Reeves, Clara Abram and Marjorie McGuire. Grandchildren Lisa (Chris) Taziar, Tania (Dan) Servonnet, Gordon (Sarah) Abram, Alona (Bryce) Quaschnick, Trish (Joe) Anderson, Sheri (Jesse) Christoffersen.
Great grandchildren Tanner Taziar, Brianna Taziar, Dayton Servonnet, Amy Servonnet, Megan Abram, Jenna Abram, Sara Anderson, Quinn Anderson, Hailey Christoffersen, Cassie Christoffersen, Chance Christoffersen, Grace Christoffersen, Macy Christoffersen, and Cohen Christoffersen.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Lloyd, Parents Margaret and George Arrowsmith, brothers Melvin and Ken, son-in-laws Keith McGuire and Ray Abram.
A viewing will be held at Red Deer Funeral Home on January 5th, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The service will be at 11:00 am, January 6th, 2022 at Red Deer Funeral Home with an interment at the Queens Park Cemetery, 3919 4 St NW, Calgary, AB.
