It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Mary Wright on Friday, December 24, 2021 at the age of 88 years. Mary was born in Beiseker, Alberta and was raised on farm, near Lousana and Delburne. She attended Collins and Cumberland Schools. In 1954, Mary and George William Wright were married. They resided in Medicine Hat until 1960, when they moved with their boys to the Keindl family farm near Delburne. They enjoyed many years at the farm, until George’s passing in 2013. Over the years, Mary volunteered for many organizations including Boy Scouts, Unifarm and Royal Purple. Mary could often be found in her yard tending to her flowers and garden. She loved crafting, baking and going to the Farmer’s Market. In later years, card making became a pastime; many family and friends enjoyed receiving her handmade creations. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Barry (Mary) Wright of Red Deer, Brian (Laura) Wright of Delburne, her grandchildren, Angela (Jamie) Wright, Anne (Florian) Wright, Adam Wright, Melissa (Gerald) Murphy, Michael (Amanda) Wright, Ashlee (Tyler) Drummond, and her great grandchildren Kiral, Syena, Kwade, Sailey Murphy, Shayna and Bria Wright, Burkley and Keltie Drummond. She will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Margaret (Muir) Loftus of Sherwood Park and Anna Keindl of Peachland, British Columbia. Mary was predeceased by her loving husband of fifty-nine years, George William Wright. A Service to commemorate Mary’s life will be held at a later date.
